1. A license for a PT

Most professional licenses in Michigan expire anywhere between 45-60 days. Physical therapy licenses in Michigan are good for 2 years and expire on July 31st on even-numbered years (2006, 2008, 2010, etc.). Even though there is a grace period of 60 days for late renewal, please be advised that there some employers who will not allow you to work if you do not have a new license by August 1st of the year your license expires. So, a word to the wise, don't wait until the last minute to renew your professional license.
2. An opportunity for a hearing for a Physical Therapist is
a. not allowed when a license is revoked
b. provided in connection with the suspension or denial of a license
c. scheduled only after all disciplinary action is finalized by the board
d. forfeited when a license is suspended due to treatment which threatens public health and safety.
I answered this question by elimination since this is not specifically stated on the Rules of Practice. It must be located somewhere else. However, I do know that the first 3 options are not true, thus by eliminating them, I believe the answer is "d".

Just like with any other state, the governing body for all licensed PT's in Michigan is the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy. This is the body that issues professional licenses, and therefore, have the authority to revoke professional licenses as well.
